Great britain's contest watchdog, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), has reportedly launched an investigation into whether some celebrity influencers are flouting consumer protection laws in the country by advertizement brands and products on their social media accounts without revealing if they have been paid to practise and then.
The investigation is believed to have started following concerns that "social media stars are not properly declaring when they have been paid, or otherwise rewarded, to endorse goods or services".
